These celebrations represent the search for shelter by Mary and Joseph before the birth of Jesus, recreating the biblical passage in which the couple seeks accommodation in Bethlehem. Each night, a group of people dress up as Mary and Joseph, visiting different houses to request “posada,” becoming over time a popular gathering among families and groups of friends in Mexico.<\/span><\/p>\n
